With COVID-19, over 11 million girls may never return to school. They would then join the 130 million who were already out of school before the crisis (UNESCO). Indeed, while today many studies show that women contribute more than men to the development of our societies. 2 times more girls than boys still do not have access to elementary school in developing countries.

Today, out of 773 million illiterate adults in the world, 63% are women (UNESCO). We can no longer leave more than half of humanity by the wayside!

"Education for Women Now is going to move the lines by creating a strong dynamic funded by major philanthropists, foundations and corporations.

Inspired by Nelson Mandela's famous quote about education the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world Denise Epoté, in her turn, affirms: "Education is a weapon of massive construction! Let's put it in the hands of girls and women because they are the ones who will change the world.

With the Education for Women Now campaign, we will empower girls and women to learn, to act for their rights, including equity, autonomy and dignity, and finally, without further delay, to be actors of a sustainable and peaceful world.
